When I hear of a case where a parent of a child has been murdered and they say they have forgiven the accused, it makes me hopeful. Then... there are the displays we saw after hearing of Osama bin Laden's demise which make me question how far we've evolved as a species. People sometimes can't believe my stance on such situations but I always keep nine words in my heart which allow me to be empathetic to even the vilest of criminals: 'There, but for the grace of God, go I.
